He has held leading roles as President in the National Scientific Qualification for University Professor of Cardiology, member of the Technical-Health Committee of the Ministry of Health, Member of Committees of the Italian Medicines Agency (AIFA).
He was awarded the title of Honorary Professor at the University of Buenos Aires in Argentina, and Associate Professor, Division of Cardiology at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Baltimore, MD, U.S.A.
He currently is Scientific Director of the National Institute of Cardiovascular Research – INRC in Bologna, Coordinator of task forces and study groups of the European Society of Cardiology and of the American College of Cardiology, consultant for international Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Industries.
He has gained a wide experience working in Italy and in the US and covering major roles in clinical, scientific and management contexts at National and International level.
